Was there ever a time in your life where MONDAY was your favorite day of the week? At some point, you must have Loved what you did to earn an income, right? Yes? No?

If you love Monday, you must love what you do! And all I can say to that is, “Congratulations!”

For everyone else, it’s time to work on that. What would make you wake up Monday morning excited to “get to work.” What type of work would that be? What was your favorite part of any job you ever had? What did you enjoy doing the most? What would make you excited about work?

If you can answer those questions with an upbeat, happy answer, you now know the secret. Do THAT!

There’s an article in the Huffington Post that deals with the question of How to Make Monday Your Favorite Day. It’s 9 tips. Here they are:

  1. Do something weekend-ish
  2. Wear something new, or dress up
  3. Eat something different
  4. Don’t scramble, just recoup
  5. Change up the music selection
  6. Add a picture to your workspace
  7. Hydrate, in a fun way
  8. Smile and show thanks
  9. Plan something to look forward to

Hmm. Cute but not as helpful as I would like… But thanks so much for trying!

Here’s my opinion

The best way to make Monday your favorite is to do what you love to do for a living. You know, those things where time just flies by, you feel focused, happy, energized, motivated, excited, real emotional exuberance!

If you can relate to what I’m saying, GREAT! You know what to do.

If not… let’s look deeper. Call it your passion, your calling, your purpose… what is it for you?

I’m completely sold on building a business online that incorporates your skill set, interest and some form of passion that’s marketable. And oh! Count the ways in this day and age!

  • My first job was an administrative assistant for corporate headhunters – ugh.
  • Second job was a bookkeeper at a Quick Lube – double ugh.
  • Third job was a musician – okay it was fun being in a rock band for a few years!
  • Fourth was a production artist for a national magazine. I liked it.

After that, I tried to start a graphic design business (offline). I liked it but failed to make it work. Then I worked for a chain of restaurants creating ads, menus, employee newsletters, and the like. It was pretty good.

I was headed in the right direction at least!

These days, Monday is my favorite day of the week. I love what I do. I enjoy working with my clients. I hit the “zone” most days where everything flows, and time goes by so fast!

That’s why I believe everyone who has a sharable skill set, a strong sense of responsibility, an independent spirit, should start their own business. You’ll be happy everyday, especially Monday!

What say you?

Love,
Deb
